We were approached by SutherlandExpo Ltd to Design a new website for them. SutherlandExpo is a UK based exhibition stand designer and builder that delivers bespoke exhibition stands to clients across the UK and Europe. Their existing website did not reflect the creative nature of the business and was too restrictive in terms of updating as well as the hosting package.

I felt like it needed a fresh approach to the website design and contacted the team at EDGE Creative. The brief I gave them was a simple one. I wanted a great looking website that showcased the quality and variety exhibition stands we design and build as well as being fully mobile friendly and easy to navigate.
The design of the new website was built on the popular open-source content management system, WordPress which allows authorised website users manage not just the content but also the admin and SEO settings giving them complete autonomy should they need it. The structure and layout uses large image formats and scrolling effects to highlight the visual element whilst clever use of larger white space means that the site does not appear cluttered. By doing this the impact of the images is further enhanced.
From a responsive perspective, the new website was built in ‘mobile-first’ mode meaning that it was designed and built of mobile devices primarily and then adapted for larger displays such as laptops and desktop computers. Historically, websites have always been the other way round but with the large proportion of website traffic now coming from mobile devices, this approach no longer makes sense.
Hosting for the own website is on our bespoke WordPress platform built and configured for WordPress and nothing else. It tales advantage of a completely separate managed platform.
