When Dorset Luxury rental property decided it was time for a new website, they turned to the creative team at EDGE to help them deliver a new online presence. This lovely holiday cottage situated in the beautiful village of Sydling St Nicholas near the County town of Dorchester (approx 8 miles), where the author and poet Thomas Hardy was born and lived. The home offers excellent accommodation in the heart of the Dorset countryside in a lovely hidden valley.. Holiday homes in Sydling St Nicholas are very popular for people visiting the Jurassic Coast of Dorset.
The property was already listed on two holiday listing sites (AirBnB and Bookings.com) and was taking bookings however there were a number of issues around which listing was taking priority in terms of managing the bookings and the flexibility that each service provided.
The new website had to meet a couple of objectives. Firstly it had to be a clean modern looking website that reflected the luxury of the property and secondly it had to be able to take bookings directly from the website and link with both existing suppliers
The new website was built using the popular content management system, WordPress, to allow the owners to easily manage every aspect of the site. This control extends to page content such as text and images as well as managing the bookings taken via the built in reservation system.
The reservation system synchs seamlessly with both existing listing services and effectively taken control (the website is the master reservation system the other two are satellites). This set up allows the owner far greater control over finer details such as changing seasons dates, prices, additional services etc which are then pushed to the other sites rather than having to enter each one twice.
