– The Brief.
London based Luxury & Performance Car dealer, Hallmarque, chose EDGE to design and deliver a new website having become tired of the limitations his old website presented. There were a number of requirements for the new site starting with the design which had to reflect the quality of the vehicles it was showcasing but also appeal to the clientele.
In addition, the website need to be easy to use in terms of managing the vehicle stock as well as other aspects of the website sucks updating content / images etc. Finally, it was crucial that the new website be completely responsive meaning it worked on all devices from desktop PCs to mobile phones (You can read more about responsive design here)
We chose WordPress as the best platform to build the new website on as the client was already familiar with how it worked. By using WordPress, we were also able to migrate a lot of the previous content from the old website (such as previously sold cars) including all of the associated images etc which helped accelerate the build process considerably.
The client also expressed frustration with previous sites with its limited flexibility – by using a combination of custom post types and custom fields for the vehicles and the various meta data (age, miles, price etc) we were able to deliver a site that could do exactly what was requested.
Of course – the main purpose was to showcase the amazing vehicles on offer. We were fortunate to have access to hight quality images for the vehicles that really allowed us to create a website with high visual impact.
